Macesport Announce Notts County Sponsorship
Sport communications consultancy Macesport have signed up with Notts County to be the club’s main sponsor for the new season.
Nottingham-based Macesport will be emblazoned across the League Two club’s shirts as well as agreeing a deal to be Notts’ matchday trainingwear partner.
Founder and managing director Paul Mace, a lifelong Notts fan, said: “As a company we are proud of our Nottingham heritage and our very close relationships and friendships throughout the global sporting family.
“It is important that we invest back into sport and we are proud to be the first-ever public relations company to be the main sponsor of an English professional football club.
“Notts County are the world’s oldest professional club and gave Juventus their black and white stripes over 100 years ago. Likewise, we at Macesport are pioneers in providing specialist sports communications services.
“Of course, I’m biased, but Notts County are a real football club with real football fans and you should never forget your roots.”
As part of the sponsorship deal, Macesport have designed a special commemorative Macesport logo which will incorporate the iconic single Magpie motif worn by the club when they competed in the top division of English football in the early 1980s.
Mace also recently wrote a 250,000 word book on Notts – entitled One Flew Over The Magpies Nest – which chronicled the past 50 years of the club with interviews with a host of club legends including former players, managers and chairmen.
Macesport were recently ranked in America as one of the top 10 sports public relations and marketing companies in the world. They provide specialist sports communications services to a raft of international sports clubs, corporations and governing bodies including the NFL and Major League Soccer (MLS), Vauxhall’s activation of their home nations football sponsorship of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, international bookmakers William Hill, the global Air Race 1 Series, the Professional Footballers Association, international football convention Soccerex and global sports pitch suppliers SIS Pitches who are providing the pitch for the 2018 Russia World Cup final in Moscow.
