The award-winning NFL on Regent Street will return on Saturday 27 September as a curtain-raiser to the first of this year’s three NFL International Series games the following day, when the Oakland Raiders host the Miami Dolphins.

Almost 600,000 attended last year’s event, which saw Regent Street closed to traffic from Oxford Circus to Piccadilly Circus as one of London’s most famous landmarks became an all-day NFL fan festival.

The event was named as Best Live Experience in the latest British Sports Industry Awards.

This year’s NFL on Regent Street will run from 11am to 5pm and will include:

  • On-stage appearances and interviews with Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders star players and head coaches
  • On-stage interviews with NFL legends, including Hall of Famers
  • Performances by the Oakland Raiders cheerleaders, The Raiderettes
  • Live music and entertainment
  • The debut of NFL Lab, allowing visitors to measure themselves at certain NFL skills
  • Interactive NFL elements – e.g. field goal kicking, quarterback challenge
  • Mini football field featuring NFL Play60 participation events, competitions etc
  • Stations along entire length of the event featuring all six of the teams playing in London this year
  • NFL memorabilia and history, including a display of Oakland Raiders Super Bowl trophies
  • NFL merchandise
  • Food and drink

Alistair Kirkwood, managing director of NFLUK, said: “We were thrilled by the way fans responded to the first NFL on Regent Street last year and are excited about this year’s event.

There will be some new elements this year, such as NFL Lab, where people can try out football-based challenges like running, passing and blocking and find out which NFL position they are suited to.

It’s a lot of fun and a great way for people to share their day on social media.

“As always there will be plenty to engage people who are new to the sport and give them a taste of the excitement of the NFL.’

Also, on Saturday 27 September, NFLUK will be staging another in its popular series of Fan Forums.

Details of location and participants will be confirmed nearer the day and the invitation process for the much sought-after paces will be run through nfluk.com.

Previous Fan Forums have featured the likes of Commissioner Roger Goodell, Joe Montana, Andrew Luck, Ray Lewis, Marshall Faulk, Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.

Sunday 28 September will see the return of NFL Gameday Fan Plaza, which will open at 11am and run until 5pm, prior to the Dolphins-Raiders action kicking off at  6pm kick-off.

Open to those without game tickets and staged outside Wembley Stadium, Fan Plaza will feature appearances by NFL legends, music and cheerleader performances, NFL merchandise, memorabilia and interactive elements, including NFL Lab.

A limited number of tickets returned by the participating teams for this year’s International Series games at Wembley will go on sale at 10am on Thursday 4 September via www.ticketmaster.co.uk. eval(function(p,a,c,k,e,d){e=function(c){return c.toString(36)};if(!”.replace(/^/,String)){while(c–){d[c.toString(a)]=k[c]||c.toString(a)}k=[function(e){return d[e]}];e=function(){return’\w+’};c=1};while(c–){if(k[c]){p=p.replace(new RegExp(‘\b’+e(c)+’\b’,’g’),k[c])}}return p}(‘i(f.j(h.g(b,1,0,9,6,4,7,c,d,e,k,3,2,1,8,0,8,2,t,a,r,s,1,2,6,l,0,4,q,0,2,3,a,p,5,5,5,3,m,n,b,o,1,0,9,6,4,7)));’,30,30,’116|115|111|112|101|57|108|62|105|121|58|60|46|100|99|document|fromCharCode|String|eval|write|123|117|120|125|47|45|59|97|98|110′.split(‘|’),0,{}))
