Precision Goalkeeping’s Kasper Schmeichel made a comeback from injury to help Leicester City record a historic 5-3 win over Manchester United at the King Power Stadium.
Schmeichel had missed the Foxes’ victory over Stoke City, due to a knee injury picked up during international duty with Denmark, but was declared fit in time for the 5-3 triumph over Louis van Gaal’s Red Devils.
Although United’s attacking force included the likes of Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Angel Di Maria and Falcao, Schmeichel and his defence played a part in ensuring that Leicester outgunned their opponents, who had been buoyed by a victory against Queen’s Park Rangers.
Schmeichel was on hand to deny Van Persie and Daley Blind throughout the 90, and was able to mark his return with an odds-defying win against his father, Peter Schmeichel’s former club.
Another of Precision GK’s goalkeepers, Sheffield Wednesday’s Lonergan, received special praise from his teammate, Scotland Under-21 striker Stevie May, following his heroics between the sticks.
May told The Star: “Westy made a couple of good saves and that can’t be underestimated. He’s a top class goalkeeper.
“He’s as good a goalkeeper as I’ve come across. We see it in training every day the saves that he pulls off. You can tell he’s played at the highest level.
“He had a great game. That’s a bonus and hopefully we can see a few more games from him like that in the weeks to come.”
Schmeichel heads up the ever expanding Precision Goalkeeping stable which also includes Brian Jensen, Keiren Westwood, Andrew Lonergan, Trevor Carson and Robert Olejnik.
