Precision Goalkeeping has made another quality addition to their stable of stoppers with the signing of IF Elfborg’s Kevin Ellegaard.
This season, Ellegaard has been a near ever-present for his club in the Allsvenskan, Sweden’s elite division, and his club’s Champions League and Europa League ventures.
The 6ft 5ins custodian has enjoyed an impressive campaign and helped to ensure that Elfborg have continued to compete at the top of the Swedish league table.
A proven goalkeeper across a collection of Europe’s top-flight divisions, the 31-year-old has also represented Manchester City in the Premier League, Hertha Berlin in the German Bundesliga, Randers FC in the Danish Superliga and SC Heerenveen in the Dutch Eredivisie throughout his established career.
Ellegaard is the third Danish goalkeeper to join the Precision Goalkeeping ranks, following on from the nation’s number one stopper Kasper Schmeichel and Crawley Town’s Brian Jensen.
“It is a great honour to join Kasper, Brian and the rest of the Precision Goalkeeping stable,” said the former Danish youth international, capped from Under-16s through to Under-21s.
“The quality of the gloves is outstanding and I knew that I wanted to continue wearing the gloves from the first time I tried them out in training.
“This is an exciting partnership for me and I’m looking forward to wearing them for the remainder of the season and beyond.” Ellegaard, who is a Allsvenskan league winner (2012) and has claimed personal awards including Denmark’s Best Penalty Keeper and Randers FC Player of the Year (2008), has chosen to wear the new Classic Hybrid design due to be launched in early 2015.
David Sanderson, brand and marketing director at Precision Goalkeeping, added: “We are thrilled to have Kevin on board with us and we know he will be a fine representative of Precision Goalkeeping as one of the Swedish league’s most established goalkeepers.
“We now sponsor goalkeepers in 11 leagues across the world and Kevin is a great addition to our ever-growing stable.”
The Precision Goalkeeping stable also includes Kieren Westwood, Frank Fielding, David Forde, Darren Randolph, Robert Olejnik, Ian McLoughlin, Trevor Carson and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach and former international Alan Kelly.
Former England manager Graham Taylor is lead brand ambassador for Precision and the Nottingham based company also have official partnerships with McDonalds, Vauxhall, the Irish Football Association and Football Association of Wales.
