Wembley Stadium is preparing to host three additional NFL games next year as the sport continues its expansion plans into the UK market.
Wembley hosted the meeting between Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons over the weekend – the second of three matches this season.
NFL UK’s managing director Alistair Kirkwood has revealed that London can expect three more matches next season.
Kirwood announced: “We are going to do three games next year, and looking at staging two games back to back in successive weeks to test this support base.
“There are some logistic reasons around the Rugby World Cup that means we won’t be going to four or five.”
The third of this season’s International Series game between Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys will be played at Wembley on 9 November.
