After three sell-out regular season NFL games, the countdown to next year’s International Series games begun in earnest with a video show on the River Thames.

The NFL paid tribute to American football fans in the UK with a dazzling display from a boat moored outside the Houses of Parliament.

All three 2014 NFL International Series games were played out in front of sell-out crowds and the countdown to 2015’s fixtures was kicked off with an impressive video show on the River Thames.

An NFL UK spokesman said: ‘”The success of our three International Series games at Wembley owes everything to the great support of our fans.

“In this week of Thanksgiving in the US we felt this was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation to those who have come to our games and our events this year and who continue to help us to grow the sport in the UK.”

Over 250,000 tickets were sold this year, with the games between Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders, Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons, and Dallas Cowboys and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Next season, the line-up includes the first-ever division game in the UK, as well as games played on consecutive Sundays.

The Dolphins return to host the New York Jets on 4 October, the Jacksonville Jaguars will face the Buffalo Bills on 25 October, and the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Lions on 1 November.
