2015 has started well for Perform at St. George’s Park, with their Human Performance Laboratory having been awarded accredited status by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences.

The highest award BASES can give to a laboratory, underlining the HPLs level of excellence in service delivery in terms of physiological testing and assessment.

The BASES Laboratory Accreditation is a quality assurance process that provides clients and service purchasers with a means of confirming the appropriateness of a laboratory to conduct physiological testing.

The award comes with extensive plans for the testing and research already underway in the Perform HPL at the National Football Centre in Burton upon Trent.

Carl Wells, Sports Science lead at Perform at St. George’s Park, commented; “The BASES Laboratory accreditation is a fantastic achievement for all involved at Perform and a great way to kick off 2015.

“The facilities here at St. George’s Park are outstanding and we have a number of exciting projects set to take place in the Perform Lab over the coming months.

“This is a significant step forward for both Perform and St. George’s Park and we are very excited about the opportunities it presents.”

Since opening back in October 2012, Perform at St. George’s Park has – along with all 24 England national teams and over 500 grassroots clubs – welcomed representative teams from across the sporting community in a bid to engender an open learning culture in which sports teams and participants can learn and benefit.
