Vauxhall, lead sponsor of Home Nations Football has announced the England shortlists for the 2014 Home Nations Football Photography competition.

The three categories include the converted Photographer of the Year, Individual Photograph of the Year and Individual Photograph of Supporters.

The Photographer of Year shortlist includes The Mail on Sunday’s Mark Pain who was crowned the inaugural Vauxhall Home Nations Football Photographer of the Year in 2011.

Carl Recine, of the Action Images agency, lifted the top award in 2013 by being crowned the Vauxhall Overall Photographer of the Year across all Home Nations. Carl will be looking to retain his title this year after it landed him a cheque for £3,000.

Cheryl Stibbs, Vauxhall Sponsorship Marketing Manager, said: “There has been a record number of entries for the competition this year, with a huge variety of exciting and beautifully captured photographs.

“2014 was an extremely busy year, with excitement of the World Cup in Brazil and the start of the European Qualifying campaign for the France next summer. The photographers have been able to capture the success our Home Nations have enjoyed so far in their campaigns.

“We continue to be astounded by the quality of the entrants and the substantial interest our awards have created in the photography profession.

“The standard of entrants in English international football category was incredible with the number of entrants growing year-on-year.”

The winners of each category and the overall Home Nations Photographer of the Year will be announced during the international week.
