The Home Nations Photographer of the Year for 2014 was awarded to Wales’ Stu Forster of Getty Images. Individual Photograph of the Year for Wales was awarded to Kieran McManus of Back Page Images for his photo of Gareth Bale throwing his shirt into the crowd after their draw away against Belgium. Freelance photographer Gareth John scooped first prize in the Individual Photograph of Supporters for his image of jubilant Welsh fans behind Gareth Bale. AFP photographer Ian Macnicol was crowned England Photographer of the Year for his portfolio of England captain Wayne Rooney, capturing the emotion of last year’s matches. Carl Recline of Actions images claimed Individual Photograph of the Year. Carl’s image illustrated the pure delight on the players’ face after a Rooney goal. Adrian Dennis of AFP landed first prize in the Individual Photograph of Supporters. Adrian’s photo of two young passionate supporters represented the next generation of young England fans. Jonathan Porter of Press Eye won first prize and the title of 2014 Northern Ireland Photographer of the Year for his portfolio of an array of photos from Northern Ireland’s football year. Jonathan also scooped first prize in the Individual Photograph of the Year for his image of the Northern Ireland Women’s team passionately celebrating a goal. William Cherry, also a photographer for Press Eye landed first prize for his image of the passionate Northern Ireland supporters celebrating. SNS photographer Craig Williamson was crowned Photographer of the Year for his portfolio of Scotland’s footballing year, including their current European Qualifying campaign. Freelance photographer Kenny Ramsay won the Individual Photograph of the Year award for his joyful image of Steven Naismith, Steven Fletcher and Ikechi Anya celebrating after a Scotland goal. Kieran McManus of Back Page Images won Individual Photograph of Supporters for his image of a young German fan holding his hands over his ears whilst a Scotland supporter plays the bagpipes.
