Vauxhall and Twitter UK teamed up this week to bring together Home Nations players from the England, Scotland and Wales teams for a live Periscope table football competition at Twitter’s Headquarters in London.

The players also previewed the upcoming European Championship qualifiers for Vauxhall’s Home Nations Football Show and took on the Quickfire Questions challenge for Vauxhall Football’s YouTube channel as well as some special ‘Would You Rather’ questions with YouTuber Spencer FC.

England’s Theo Walcott, Wales Ben Davies and Scotland’s James McArthur also picked out their all time best centre backs and full backs for their respective nations. Fans can look forward to hearing their answers in the next round of games in September.

As the whistle blew for the first live Periscope match to kick-off, it was Theo Walcott who took on James McArthur in an England v Scotland clash. After a thrilling game it was England and Walcott who came out on top, with the striker securing a 5-1 victory.

In fact, following the three table football face-offs, Walcott came out on top overall after defeating Wales’ Ben Davies 5-0 in the England v Wales game. Scotland’s James McArthur came second overall following a win over Ben Davies in the Scotland v Wales clash with a 5-3 final score.

The players also took part in a series of ‘Would You Rather’ questions with YouTube star Spencer FC. Questions included the likes of ‘Would you rather play alongside Messi or Ronaldo?’ and ‘Would you rather be a manager or a pundit when you retire?’ These will be out on Spencer FC’s YouTube channel in the next few weeks.

The hashtag #VauxhallChallenge received an amazing reach of 13 million on Twitter and had 23 million impressions online over the hour that the players were inside Twitter’s Headquarters. The players also posted videos from their Twitter accounts with Theo Walcott, Ben Davies and James McArthur all getting in on the action by posting videos to their timelines.
