The Galleries of Justice Museum will once again deliver a Light Night to remember on Friday February 5th. Following on from last year’s spectacular event, High Pavement will see a night of luminous wonder that will run from 5.30 until 9.00.

A Night Market in partnership with the Creative Quarter and Sheena Holland will line High Pavement and lead its way into the Shire Hall. Stalls selling a variety of arts and crafts from jewellery, sculptures and furniture to vintage items, clothes and candles will be on offer. A sumptuous selection of food including Thai, Vietnamese and Mexican will be available in the historic building’s courtyard, where a range of drinks will also be available. Guests will have the opportunity to marvel at a variety of live music and entertainment (including a street juggler) that will keep them amused during the highlight of Nottingham’s social calendar.

The Villainous Sheriff will be on-hand to regale with stories of the city’s horrible history in free walking tours around the Lace Market. Meanwhile, visitors of all ages can purchase reduced price tickets for one the Museum’s famed Ghost Tours. On the tour they can creep through the deserted dungeon whilst listening to eerie tales of terror (advance booking is strongly advised to avoid disappointment).

Last, but not least, the magnificent beauty of the Grade II* listed Shire Hall will be illuminated for one night only by a blast of light that will make the monumental building one of the shining stars in 2016’s brightest night.

Nicola Burley, Executive Director at the museum said:  ‘Light Night is a perfect evening for families across Nottingham. We’re building on the events of the last few years to offer a variety of entertainment for people of all ages. The Galleries of Justice Museum is excited to be a part of this and we relish the opportunity to show-off our magnificent building over the course of this fun-filled night’.
