Vauxhall, lead sponsor of the Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Wales national football teams, has revealed the Scotland shortlists for the 2016 Vauxhall UK National Teams Photographer of the Year competition.

The three categories include the coveted Photographer of the Year, Best Individual Photograph and Inspirational #GetIN Photograph for 2016.

SNS photographer Craig Williamson was crowned 2015 Photographer of the Year for his portfolio of Scotland’s footballing year. Craig is shortlisted in two of the three categories in this year’s competition.

The Vauxhall Scotland Photographer of the Year award winner will join the Northern Irish, Scottish and Welsh winners in contesting the overall prize for the Vauxhall UK National Teams Photographer of the Year for all nations. Last year’s winner was Carl Recine of Action Images, whose portfolio captured England’s faultless qualifying campaign for Euro 2016.

Cheryl Stibbs, Vauxhall Sponsorship Marketing Manager, said: “We’ve enjoyed another year of record entries and an impressive variety of well-captured photographs. We continue to be impressed by the quality and passion of the entrants and the substantial interest our awards have created in the photography profession.”

Vauxhall has continued the awards as part of its sponsorship of the Scottish national football team, as well as their lead partnerships with Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The winners of each category and the overall Vauxhall UK National Teams Photographer of the Year for all nations will be announced during the international week later this month.
