Gareth Bale Scoops Wales Fans’ Award After Vauxhall Voting

Gareth Bale has been presented with the Fans’ Player of the Year Award at the FAW Awards.

Wales supporters were given the opportunity to vote for their best performer throughout 2014 on the Vauxhall Football website.

Bale, who is now 10th in the all-time Wales goal-scoring chart following his double in the 2-1 triumph over Andorra in the Euro 2016 qualifying campaign opener, received the majority of votes.

The Real Madrid forward was presented with his award by Vauxhall sponsorship marketing manager Cheryl Stibbs on Monday evening.

Cheryl said: “Gareth has been such an impressive performer for Wales and this has been reflected in the voting.

“We are delighted to be able to present Gareth with the award and hope that he can continue to play at the top of his game to help Wales book a place at Euro 2016.”

The FAW Awards preceded a double-header for Chris Coleman’s squad, who face Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cyprus at the Cardiff City Stadium during the international week.
