Teqball signs partnership with Ronaldinho
Renowned football icon Ronaldinho has signed a partnership with Teqball, joining other legends of the game including Robert Pirès, William Gallas and Simão Sabrosa in promoting the emerging sport.
The former Brazilian attacking midfielder will take part in a series of worldwide Teqball events, to raise its profile and encourage more people to take up the sport – described as a cross between football and table tennis.
Widely considered one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldinho enjoyed successful stints at clubs throughout Europe and Brazil during his career, starting at Grêmio after graduating from its youth academy, before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, A.C Milan, and Barcelona FC where he spent five seasons and made 145 appearances.
Since retiring from professional football, Ronaldinho has become a big fan of Teqball, regularly seen playing at his home and on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro where he now lives.
“I’ve been playing Teqball for a long time, I love the technical aspect of it and how it helps to improve your football skills. I’m looking forward to working with Teqball to help grow interest in the sport and hope it’s soon included in the Olympics because then I might have the chance to become an Olympic champion,” he said.
Since it was invented in a small district of Budapest, Hungary in 2014, Teqball has grown to more than 42 countries around the world. The signature curved tables are now a common sight in the training grounds of the world’s top professional football clubs including Arsenal, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona FC, Wolverhampton, Everton, Watford, Bournemouth, Southampton, Burnley and Manchester United.
Teqball co-founder Viktor Huszár said, “Ronaldinho has been a friend of Teqball for a long time and one of the first to truly showcase the potential of the sport using his own table on social media. He was the obvious choice for us having displayed unmatched skills and flare as a player and winning the hearts of fans the world over. We’re proud to have Ronaldinho as a partner and believe he can help us to reach even more people around the world, promoting the benefits of Teqball to people of all ages and abilities.”
Teqball tables are available to purchase and proving popular with those looking to refine their coordination, stamina, agility and concentration. Professional and amateur footballers are also using Teqball as a way to improve their on-field performance, recognising a number of transferable skills between the Teqball table and the pitch.
